February 26, 2010

The Sheriff's Office Substation located at Johnson Ranch- 968 E Hunt Highway (Johnson Utilities) will permanently close effective February 24th. Anyone needing assistance can contact the Sheriff's Office by calling 1-800-420-8689 or 520-866-5112 or by visiting the Substation located at Hunt Hwy and Arizona Farms Rd- 3655 E Hunt Highway.

The NEW and IMPROVED San Tan Valley Substation located in the Fry's Shopping Plaza at Combs and Gantzel (155 W Combs)will open to the public during our Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Safety Fair on Saturday March 6th, 2010 at 1200 pm.

"It's the most modern and well-suited for law enforcement," Villar said. "It's our safest and most efficient layout."

The substations offer customer services such as obtaining police reports and making police reports so county residents don't have to drive into Florence.

Deputies use them for booking suspects and doing paperwork.

The new substation will include an interview room and have the most secure detention area of all the substations, sheriff's officials say, and it will also be designed to protect the civilian employees.

It will also include a conference room that community groups can use for meetings.

Villar said what makes the new substation unique is the sheriff's office was able to gut the suite and rebuild it to suit police work.

Please visit us during our Grand Opening Celebration and Safety Fair on March 6th from 10 am- 2 pm at the new substation (155 W Combs).

Anyone interested in being a vendor in our vendor fair, at the Grand Opening and Safety Fair on March 6th can contact Lt. Tami Villar or by calling 520-866-5199.

There will be a great deal of health and safety info at the safety fair and great vendors at the vendor fair. The Sheriff's Office and Johnson Ranch Homeowners Association have arranged a fantastic day full of fun and safety to include a prescription drug turn in event in cooperation with the County Attorney's Office, a document shredding company who will be on site to help you properly destroy your personal documents, water safety, finger printing, firearms safety with our very own Eddie the Eagle, jumping castles, face painting, cotton candy, snow cones, popcorn, free food and much much more.

The Law Enforcement Students from CAVIT High School will be hosting a booth to provide information and collect donations for a trip they are hoping to take to visit Washington DC during National Police Week in May. They will also be hosting a car wash that day, near Burger King, to raise money for thier trip. If you know of any organization and or individuals who may be able to help these kids make this trip a reality, please have them contact me at 520-705-4245. Donations made on their behalf, to the Pinal County Justice Foundation are fully tax deductable.
