Babeu earns support of tough DUI law architect
Phoenix, AZ – Jim Waring, an Arizona Senator and sponsor of several tough DUI laws,
has announced his endorsement of Chandler Police officer Paul Babeu for Pinal County
Sheriff.
Waring was elected to the Arizona Senate in 2002 from a metro-Phoenix district.
He serves as a member of the Appropriations Committee and Judiciary Committee. He
is the Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee and the Appropriations Subcommittee
on Transportation and Criminal Justice.
“Paul is the right person to enforce the tough DUI laws” Waring said. “The steps
that are being taken at the Capitol are steps that will give Paul the tools that
he needs to get drunk drivers off of Pinal County’s highways.” Waring continued
by saying, “I look forward to working with Paul after the voters of Pinal County
elect him as their new Sheriff.”
Babeu said he welcomed the support of State Senator Waring. “As a police officer, I know and appreciate the work that Senator Waring has done for police officers across Arizona,” Babeu said. “This endorsement is very special because of his work and because it shows that another voice for law-enforcement at the Arizona Capitol has joined our team as we gain traction toward November.”
