Maricopa Republicans endorse Babeu for Pinal County Sheriff

Board members of the Maricopa Republican Club voted unanimously to endorse
Paul Babeu for Pinal County Sheriff. Mr. Babeu was a guest speaker at the Maricopa
Republican Club meeting held on January 30th where he gave an impassioned speech.
Right after the meeting, the Board members got together and decided to endorse Paul
Babeu.
Officer Babeu is President of the Chandler Law Enforcement Association (CLEA), which
is the recognized labor organization representing all Chandler's sworn Police Officers
and Detectives. Officer Babeu is credited with fostering a high level of cooperation
and professionalism between administration and officers, resulting in improved performance.
Paul Babeu is a Major in the Arizona Army National Guard, having served a tour of
duty in Iraq and 16 months deployed in Arizona on Operation Jump Start (OJS), Southwest
Border Mission.
During the meeting on January 30th, Paul Babeu was interrupted in the middle of
his speech by former Representative and Campaign Manager Cheryl Chase who received
a phone call from State Senate President Timothy Bee. Babeu was surprised when Chase
presented an award to Babeu with Bee thanking him via speaker phone for his service.
The proclamation presented to Major Paul Babeu was signed by Tim Bee which stated
"Arizona State Senate Proclamation presented to Major Paul Babeu in honor of his
exceptional leadership in Operation Jump Start to secure borders in Arizona.
Marty Hermanson, President of the Maricopa Republican Club says that the club is proud to endorse Babeu. "We need more leaders like Paul". "His experience in the Military and Police makes him a solid candidate for Sheriff". We believe that if he is elected, Paul will bring honest, independent, and accountable leadership.
